Retinol and What It Can Do For You

What is it?

Retinol is an active ingredient and form of Vitamin A that is applied topically onto the skin.

What does it do?

Retinol increases cell turnover resulting in increased collagen production, reducing the signs of ageing, fine lines and wrinkles. Retinol also reduces sebum production which aids in fighting acne.

Where do I find it?

Retinol and its many forms are found in serums and moisturisers usually. We recommend the following;

Higher Education MBA 0.5% Retinol Serum - perfect for younger skins or retinol beginners.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Retinol Serum - perfect for mature skins looking to up their retinol use.

How do I use it?

To be used at night time after you cleanse and tone. Use it 2-3 times a week.

Things to note:

Due to the higher cell turnover your skin may be sensitive when your first start using retinol. Please start slowly, use SPF everyday to protect your skin and reduce other active ingredient use while your skin builds up a tolerance.
